Exciting news: I’m working on a children’s storybook and animation series about Imani

Dear readers,

Today I want to share something truly special with you. As many of you know, my daughter Imani is a source of strength, wonder and love in my life. Her story, and that of her cuddly friend Nijnie has inspired me to create something that can bring comfort, hope and connection to other children and parents.

That’s why I’ve started writing a heartfelt children’s storybook, based on the small but powerful moments in Imani’s everyday life, full of tenderness, curiosity and the challenges that come with medical care. Each story shares themes of love, friendship, courage and belonging.

But there is more: My dream is to bring these stories to life through short animated videos for children (Eng/NL) to enjoy on YouTube. Gentle, colorful, meaningful and inclusive; because every child deserves to feel seen in a story, and every family deserves to feel welcome.

This project takes time, love… and yes, resources. Professional illustrations and animations are a big investment. That’s why I hope to support this dream through the proceeds from ZENZIN/ZENZINcrafts. With those, I aim to release the very first tactile storybook, soft and soothing for little hands and big hearts.
